Skiing resort at Kitzbuhel

I spent a week in Kitzbuhel, Austria on an official training and would rate it as one of my most disappointing trips as it was a waste to be at such a pretty place and be inside the hotel all day in a training!

Kitzbuhel is a popular skiing resort in Austria, about 2 hours drive from Munich or 1.5 from Salzburg. Its like any alpine village in the Alps - beautiful wooden houses, amazing green/white mountains, and summer and winter activities to do. We stayed at the hotel which was right next to the ski slopes; all day we could see people skiing.

The village is pretty, with the main street having multi-coloured houses. We also went up a mountain one day, for dinner at 'Rosie's'; a popular restaurant in Kitzbuhel, where an old lady by the name of Rosie sings and entertains in the evenings.

One of the days, we also ran into the Krampus Santa, or the bad Santa. Apparently on that day, people dress up in demon masks and animal skin, and beat up bad children! We saw some of them in a club too; they all had black paint on their faces and were rubbing paint on other peoples faces too!

Other than that, there was skiing: multiple slopes with alpres options. A place that's definitely worth visiting later...
